Getting ready to install or upgrade your landscape? This introductory design class will show you how to landscape where you live. Learn what you can do to give your yard more curb appeal and reduce maintenance at the same time.

Now that you’ve had the introductory 101 course, it’s time to delve into more details of creating your own Utah-friendly landscape. Learn how to create a base map for your yard. Gain a better understanding of the central open shape concept, activity area and planting bed design, sprinkler systems, and more!

Kids Classes

Instructor: Monica Hoyt - Central Utah Water

Learn about the properties of water and be entertained at the same time! Look at water in a whole new way with these fun experiments! This STEM-based class will be sure to fascinate all who attend. Geared toward ages 5-11. A parent or guardian must accompany the children. Adults do not need a ticket to attend. Class is held in the outdoor amphitheater. 1 hour.

Story Time & Craft July 25th, 2018 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Instructor: Annette VanWagenen - Storyteller

Children will enjoy listening to a master storyteller, followed by a fun craft related to the stories. Geared toward ages 3-8, but all ages are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Adults do not need a ticket to attend. Class is held in the outdoor amphitheater. 1 hour.

All About Bugs August 1st, 2018 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Instructor: Thanksgiving Point Staff

There are a lot of cool bugs out there! In this class, children will get to see a variety of insects, learn about insect structure and function, gain an understanding of beneficial and harmful insects, and go on a bug hunt in the garden! Geared towards children ages 5-11. A parent or guardian must accompany the children. Adults do not need a ticket to attend. Class is held in the outdoor amphitheater. 1 hour.

The Water CycleAugust 8th, 2018 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Instructor: Central Utah Gardens Staff

Water can be found in many places, and it can take on various forms. In this class, children get to pretend they are water molecules and will move from the ocean to the clouds to the lake and will end up with a unique bracelet that follows the path they took. Geared toward ages 5-11. A parent or guardian must accompany the children. Adults do not need a ticket to attend. Class is held in the outdoor amphitheater. 1 hour
